Jelly Sours is Jez Francis on keys and Heather Lawrence on vocals. Collaborating in 2016 Jez brings driving piano boogie, blues, rich harmonics and jazz influences, previously recording with Super Furry Animals and Shack. Heather’s magnetic vocal and charismatic performances draw you in and come from her love of performing and experience in fronting blues, African and gospel bands. Her key influences are Nina Simone and Jill Scott. Together we blend a versatile sound, which explores our own unique talents and creates a mix of compelling rhythms, tender soulful melodies and song writing that just grabs you. 

I am a classically trained pianist who learned to play boogie-woogie in my 20’s. From there I developed my playing around blues and jazz. I have played in several different band set ups including a 60’s & 70’s duo, Jelly Sours is the perfect set up for my boogie, jazz, blues and cocktail styles, as well as getting creative and writing our own songs.

Hi party people I trained in the  performance arts so performing is where I feel most at home. I've been singing in various band styles for over 20 years. From African to funk rock, soul gospel blues and once upon a time even hip hop.! Now I'm flexing my voice in a soul/motown band and am coming back home it feels with Mr Sweet making relaxing melodic blues to soothe the soul. 

Jelly Sours is a unique combination of our musical strengths and passions and will add a bit of jelly roll to go with your Sarsaparilla!
